The Atlantic Sturgeon is called "a living fossil" because its appearance has not changed in roughly 85 million years. It can grow up to 14 feet long and live for up to 60 years. This vessel features sturgeons and eel grass — two species that are endangered in Virginia but have active restoration projects.
Giclée printing is a high quality archival printing method that uses pigments and UV-resistant ink. The original design is an acrylic painting on wood photographed at high resolution and reprinted with care to capture all the vibrant paint strokes.
